In case you haven’t heard, the Facebook Pixel is magical! The Pixel can change your business- maybe even your life! But what IS it? To put it simply, the Pixel is a piece of code generated by Facebook that you insert into your website that tracks the people who visit your site.
What you can do with the Facebook Pixel:
- Create targeted audiences. Create audiences based on people who visit your site or event-specific landing pages, as well as Lookalike audiences.
- Track conversions. The Pixel lets you see how people interact with your site after they see your ad. You can set up Custom Conversions to measure actions people take on your site that align with your business goals.
- Optimize and Remarket. Now that you have specific audiences, you can tailor your ads directly to those people. Create ads showcasing Product A to show to people who visited the landing page for Product A. Create a different ad showing Product B to show to people who visited the Product B landing page.
How to install the Pixel:
There are a few simple ways to do this. I recommend starting at Facebook’s How-to Page. From there, it explains how to create the Pixel and to either send the code to your website developer or install it yourself.
After your Pixel is installed, let it work its magic and make the most of your ads! Check out this short video about how to create audiences using the Pixel.
Pro Tip #1: Aren’t sure your Pixel is installed? Download the Chrome Pixel Helper which tells you if a Pixel is installed on any website and, if so, what the Pixel number is.
Pro Tip #2: Not running ads yet? Install the Pixel anyway! It will start collecting data immediately so if you decide to run ads in the future, you’ll have the option to create audiences around that data.
