While we’ve all been celebrating the coming of spring, you’ve probably also been wondering… is this weather an April Fool’s joke?! Much of the U.S. has been hit with unseasonably cold temperatures and dreaded precipitation, which can hinder a small business’s foot traffic.
The solution? Some bad-weather brainstorming. Here are a few tips from our Rainy Day Kit:
- Make some fresh markdowns and share a before and after photo on social media, or upload a video announcing the new deals
- Run a pop-up sale, but don’t make things complicated. You don’t have a lot of time to plan a day-of pop-up sale, so you want it to be as simple as possible for you and your customers.
- Band together with neighbors. Get together with some other local businesses, like restaurants and coffee shops, and offer a discount if a customer shares a receipt from these businesses at checkout.
- Post a “Today Only” sale, giving a special discount on the entire store, specific collection, or one item. Make sure you post at least one photo of the item(s) that are on sale
