Have you seen the latest Saved Album update on Instagram? We’re currently being batch-tested for this new feature, and I cannot deny how similar it seems to Pinterest Boards!
When saving an Instagram post using the bookmark icon, you have the opportunity to immediately add it to a Saved Album to help categorize your saved posts. These boards have always been private and only viewable to the account admins, but now, you can create public boards that you share with other accounts!
We have a strong feeling that, soon enough, these Collaborative Saved Albums will have the option to become completely public—with the option of having your Saved Albums visible to all Instagram users if you choose. This could be a great way for retailers to showcase their products in albums or create inspirational albums in similar ways you would on Pinterest for your PCGs!
To access your current Saved Albums, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click the triple lines on the top right of your Instagram Profile
Step 2: Select “Saved”
From here, you can view your saved audio, products, guides, and posts all in one place. It’s also where you can organize your saved posts into albums.
Until the day comes when these Collaborative Saved Albums become public, we’ll just wait to see how people interact with these new albums and where Instagram takes it from there.
What I Want You To Take Away From This Blog:
- Instagram is implementing Collaborative Saved Albums (which look very similar to Pinterest Boards).
- Using new features is always a great way to impress the algorithm.
- Start saving content that your PCGs may like now, so you’ll be ready to create a public board if this feature becomes available.
Okay, over to you…
