As you know having a strong social media presence can have a HUGE impact on your business, so much so it can help your business’s bottom line. What’s even more important is the quality of the people who follow you across all your social channels – it’s not just about the numbers anymore.
Many of the top social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest are cracking down and removing fake social media accounts, and people are starting to notice drops in their follower counts because of this initiative. It’s easy to start panicking at these types of changes, but you want to focus on having people following you who want to hear from you, who want to click over to your website, and who could potentially buy from you.

One super easy way to gain more loyal followers on social media is to use your email list to promote your social media accounts.
Here’s how you can do that:
- Have a dedicated email send asking people on your email list to follow you on social. Take it one step further and have them do it to enter a contest or giveaway to give them an incentive to follow you.
- Link to popular posts you have on your social accounts in an email/newsletter. This is a good way to help boost your engagement which in turn helps get your content seen by more people.
- Take your email list and upload it to Facebook Ads Manager, and run an ad inviting people to like you. There might be people on your list who don’t follow you on social, so this is a great way to strengthen your online relationship with them.
Remember, you don’t own your Facebook and Instagram followers or your YouTube viewers, but you do own your email list – this is what I call a dependable audience. When platforms decide to make changes to their algorithms and potentially stop showing your content to a wider audience, you’ll have the peace of mind in knowing it’ll still be seen by the people that matter.
