Christmas in July

If you’re looking for ideas on increasing sales this summer, then check out this week’s focus which is on ‘Christmas in July.’ Not only will you find some ideas on how to generate more exposure and foot traffic, but you’ll hear some in-store event ideas too.

I discuss ways to leverage online tools to ensure a successful summer, including action items so you start implementing this type of promotion into your store.

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”-Joel A. Barker. “Vision with action can change…your store marketing and sales.” -Crystal Vilkaitis

If you find this tip helpful, please share it with your retailer friends. If you run a Christmas in July type promotion, I’d love to hear about it so please leave a comment on this blog post.

One popular event that retailers take advantage of in July, besides Independent Retailer Month, is Christmas in July. Have you ever done an event like this? If so, please share details in a comment on this post.

Christmas in July isn’t a new concept, but this week’s tip is how to make it the most successful summer yet by leveraging online tools.

There are many ways to put on a ‘Christmas in July’ promotion like:

  • Offering sales and “Black Friday Prices”
  • Featuring discounted product bundles
  • Highlighting deals of the day
  • In-store social events

As we know, one of the best ways to increase foot traffic is to host an event in-store. A few ideas of what you could host for a Christmas in July theme are:

  • Live music/concert
  • Pictures with Santa
  • Fashion show
  • Ladies night
  • Donation drive

Make sure you really leverage this campaign by promoting ahead of time on social media outlets, use email marketing, in-store signage, Facebook ads and mobile marketing. I strongly encourage you to look at this promotion as an entire event, whether you’re hosting an in-store event or not.

If you found this video tip helpful, please send it to your retailer friends.
