The Modern Marketing Show, Episode 15: Be Yourself and Stand Out on Social

There are thousands and thousands of retailers actively using social media today, and many of those shops are fighting for the attention of your perfect customers. But, have you ever stopped to think – why would somebody follow your business on social?

Watch the full episode:

It’s more than just providing killer customer service and having the best product selection or promotions, it’s about connecting with your audience on a personal level. Afterall, social media platforms were created with the hope to connect people with other people.

So much good can be done for your business when you remember the importance and the value of being authentic to yourself on social media. You want to find what makes you unique or what people like most about you and your business and let it shine across all your social channels. This is what’s going to resonate with your audience, which the most successful brands know how to do very well.

Are you someone who likes to tell jokes? Share them on social.

Do you have a pre-event ritual you do? Share it on social.

Why did you start your business? Let people know your story.

Remember, social media is about being social! Don’t try to be something you’re not, your core customers are going to appreciate you for being genuinely you. Think big – this is a place for you to be true to yourself and bring people like you together online.

Make it a goal to share stories and just be yourself. When you do, you’ll see engagement increase, you’ll have customers talk about it in store – it will be more meaningful, more memorable and help you stand out.

You can catch new episodes of The Modern Marketing Show every Monday at 10 a.m PST on our Facebook Page. Replays will be available on the blog each week.
