7 Content Ideas for Interactive Social Media Posts

Incorporating interactive social media posts into your content calendar is an important way to grow your following and gain more momentum in the algorithm. The algorithm notices when more people are stopping on a post and directly engaging with it. From a reaction or reply, to a save or a comment, turning a viewer into a participating audience member is a key to growing a strong following!

7 Content Ideas for interactive social media posts

Here are 7 ideas to help get your audience clicking and interacting with your content!

  1. Add Yours Sticker Reel.

The Add Yours sticker is one of my favorite ways to include interactive social media posts to your platforms. Simply use the “Add Yours” sticker in your Stories and upload a sunset photo from your camera roll. Ask your audience to share their favorite sunset from 2023 so far!

  2. Store Tour with voiceover.

People love seeing what’s new and happening in your store, so be sure to consistently update them with a store tour to show the latest and greatest things happening in your small business. You can film this at any time of day because the voiceover tool can be added in later, narrating what the viewer is seeing! To make this post interactive, ask a question in the video and repeat the question in the caption (preferably at the start of the caption)!

  3. Emoji Reaction Sticker Reel.

This one’s easy! Consider creating an Instagram Reel taking a few short video clips of a new product arrival or a new display. You can use the emoji reaction slider to directly ask your audience to react to how much they love the showcased item.

  4. Add Your Sticker Story on Facebook and Instagram.

Showcase a popular product or brand from your store, and ask your audience to showcase their favorite items that they’ve purchased from your store or another local business. On the “Add Yours” sticker, you can say something like, “#ShopLocal (Insert town/city name)”, or “Your Favorite Local Business”.

  5. Facebook Story – Question Box.

Filter through the suggested questions to easily ask your audience general questions about themselves. This is a great way to get your audience comfortable with responding to your Stories in a fun and engaging way. Easily upload a photo, select the Question box, and check out the suggested topics at the bottom relating to movies, sports, music, and more!

  6. Poll with January favorites.

Using the layout tool on Instagram Stories, you can upload 2+ photos into an individual Story. From here, use the Poll Sticker to ask your audience to vote on which they prefer from two or more options. Use items from your store or general January topics, such as “Snowman vs. Snow Angels”, “Watching a Movie vs. Reading by the fireplace”, etc…

  7. Instagram Story – Quiz Sticker.

Use the Quiz sticker on Instagram Stories with either a plain color background or photos from your camera roll, and ask your audience a series of get-to-know-you questions. Consider putting in one right answer and a few incorrect answers to game-ify your quiz. Some questions to consider asking include:

  • Q: What is my dog’s name? A’s: Koda, Lemon, Patches.
  • Q: How long has (insert store name) been open? A’s: 5 years, 15 years, 8 months.
  • Q: What do I take in my coffee? A’s: Just black, Cream and sugar, Almond milk.

What I Want You To Take Away From This Blog:

  • Using more interactive social media posts can help gain followers and more engagement through the algorithm.
  • Mixing your content types helps you gain a better perspective on which posts work better with your audience.
  • Directly asking your audience to engage with you can help get them more comfortable becoming an active member of your community.

Okay, over to you…
Which of these interactive social media posts will you try out first? Let us know on Facebook, Instagram, or in the comments below!
