3 Meaningful Ways to Thank Your Customers This Season

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, this is the perfect time of year to express gratitude to your customers. Day in and day out. From the most loyal to the brand new. The support and patronage of your customers is the lifeblood of your business. Why not take some time this season to share a heartfelt message that conveys your thanks to them—particularly for sticking by you and your business through a tough year? Here are a few holiday marketing ideas for doing so:

  1. Send an earnest email.

Take your salesperson hat off and write from the heart. Length is irrelevant. Ask yourself: Why are your customers your favorite thing about being a business owner? How do you feel when you see a smiling face walk through your door? What’s your favorite part of helping them find just the right item? How do you feel about being a part of their community? Sharing your thoughts on any of these questions can truly strengthen customer relationships.
  1. Increase your quote quota.

I love quotes, and so do social media followers! Sometimes quotes just say it better. Share a few that resonate with you (and make your customers say “awww!”) in your social media posts. Here are a few for the taking:

“Appreciation is a wonderful thing.
It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”

-Voltaire

⧫

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

-John F. Kennedy

⧫

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

 -William Arthur Ward

  1. Scatter your store with sentiments.

Post warm and fuzzy signage. Answer your phone with a greeting of thanks. Reflect your customer appreciation on your website.  Try some of these shareable sentiments:
  • We ❤️ you for loving local.
  • You are the reason we do what we do. Thank you for being a loyal customer.
  • When you support a small business, you’re supporting a dream. Thank you.
  • We have an attitude of gratitude!
